There’s something new and powerful making a statement at Burdekin’s Marrickville office. The front wall at 99 Chapel Street is now home to a stunning mural that captures the heart of Burdekin’s reason for being – Empowering Young Lives.
A Visual Story of Young People
The spray-painted mural, featuring a young man and woman sitting together on a park bench gives a message of connection, belonging and potential. It represents the strength and possibility that lie within every young person, and the support systems—like Burdekin—that help bring those qualities to life.
It demonstrates Burdekin’s ‘how’ – how we champion the young person with determination and creativity, developing solutions to ensure that they have a safe home and improved wellbeing in their communities.
Meet the Artists behind the Mural
Artists Danny Phillips and Adam Harrier are skilled mural artists with their roots in the graffiti scene. They were engaged by Urban Art Australia to create our mural and transform the wall into a representation of what Burdekin does.
The creative process involved them blending technical precision with raw expression, resulting in an artwork that’s visually striking and deeply meaningful to the Burdekin community. It’s certainly a great deal nicer to look at now!
