The History of Home Sweet

Link Wentworth launched the Home Sweet annual charity sleepover in 2017 with the aim of raising awareness and funds to address homelessness. The event was a huge success and togehter we raised $120,000 with Burdekin as the sole beneficiary.

Following on from the success of the inaugral Home Sweet event, the 2019 sleepover, with a broader focus to include other vulnerable cohorts raised $182,000 for Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), The Burdekin Association and Link Wentworth’s Scholarship Program.

In 2023, following a brief interruption in all events (COVID-19), community came together at Freshwater Surf Lifesaving Club once again to give their support. With the support of sleepees, sponsors and atteendees, we raised an incredible $170,000 for Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), The Burdekin Association and Link Wentworth’s Scholarship Program.

Together, across three Home Sweet events we have raised $472,000 for homelessness!
